L. Family | Chicago Lifestyle Photographer

I love lifestyle photo sessions.  Most people opt for the typical portrait session at a scenic location, but once in a while I get a family that is interested in capturing their family just being themselves in their own home.  The kids are typically are much more relaxed, playing with their toys and interacting with mom and dad just as they would on a daily basis. Or, just being silly, trying to show off in front of their guest (me).  This type of interaction is very natural and the pictures in turn hold a lot of meaning as they capture the family in its own surroundings, and the kids are not obliged to look at the camera and smile… a photo journalistic photo session if you will. 🙂

A lifestyle photo session was in fact very appropriate for the L family since they were in the process of selling their house – a house that both kids call home.  With this session they were looking to capture some last memories of their home and yard, where their youngest just celebrated his one year birthday and the older brother loves racing his trike along the driveway.
