Sneak peak into post-processing…

I thought I’d let you see the world of difference  that post-processing or photo editing really does to a portrait.   Depending on an image, the amount of work that goes into editing varies.  Close-up portraits typically require more meticulous attention, especially to even out skin tones, than your whole body shot.   Mid to full length  images, where the face is not the main focus, can become a canvas for more artistic edits such as the vintage conversion of the bridal image below.

Take a look at some of my Before and After and see how the images differ…

Do you like the ‘After’ images?  Yes or no, the choice is completely personal! 🙂

Christine and Adam, Trash the Dress session in Chicago

The day could not have been more perfect for this session that took place the day after bride and groom got married.  Chicago weather is definitely unpredictable, but with showers in the forecast, we were prepared for the worst… At the end, my umbrella remained unopened, and the happy couple might even have gotten a little suntan while modeling on the sunny streets of Chicago.

I wanted to specifically position the bride and groom in order to capture Adam’s  funky socks that match perfectly the bride’s shoes and the overall scheme of the wedding.

What a photo it turned out!

This is one of my favorite images of  the bride – she just looks  so radiant here!

We accidentally stumbled upon this great location and managed to get down and dirty for the sake of some creative shots – this was a Trash the Dress session after all. 🙂

We did open one umbrella for this photo shoot….   The bride’s mother, a very crafty woman, has made this umbrella especially for this occasion.  I can’t wait to see how the Thank You cards turn out!

Christine - Olga –

You were a wonderful photographer to work with for the day after photo shoot (aka -trash the dress….even though I didn’t get that dirty). 🙂

All of your shots turned out amazing, you truly made Adam and I ‘gleam’. You have an eye for great pictures and lighting and I love some of the different coloring (black/white, sepia, etc.) that you did with some of the photos. Also, I love the different types of angles you were able to capture with us and the buildings in the background.

You completely read my mind about what I was hoping the pictures would turn out to be, and exceeded both of our expectations.

Just truly amazing and a great person to work with!

Thank you for helping to make our wedding weekend a memorable and fun weekend.

Gleam Photography - Reading minds is my other talent 🙂
Thank you for the generous words guys! You were just a pleasure to work with and had made me realize why I love photography so much – capturing unscripted moments, exploring and taking chances, and having fun.
I couldn’t have asked for better newlywed models!
