Rain, rain go away | Lake Forest Family Photographer

I photographed this beautiful family late last fall. It was one of those sessions that I kept thinking about and meaning to blog, and as usual, blogging just kept getting post postponed since I was busy just trying to stay afloat with all the sessions.

For a change of pace, mom suggested we take photos at an urban location this time around. we settled on the beautiful downtown Lake Forest. Of course Chicago weather never fails to disappoint…it was a very rainy autumn and it rained all week along. However, when I saw a glimpse of the sun through the clouds I made an executive decision to not cancel the session. Glad I did, because just as we were pulling up to our meeting spot, the rain magically began to dissipate and sun peeked giving us beautiful light and saturated colors. Though it was a bit wet, this rainy day photo session turned out to be a complete success! Lesson learned – don’t let a little rain scare you. If your photographer give the go ahead for a shoot in the rain, grab your umbrella, rain boots, and let the kids run wild – your images will be unforgettably real, alive, and fun! 🙂
